No, we are the technology supplier implementing the program. As part of our agreement we are actively out meeting members to review and to acknowledge participation along with & getting additional input.
We continue to build interest in the website through various electronic campaigns, advertising media such as newspaper, printed materials & soon to be radio. In addition member incentives through sponsors such as TD Home & Auto, Wilson’s Home Heating, Industrial alliance, The Daily News, and many more who provide lucrative incentives to both members & their employees.
The website was in construction for 2 years & was launched Oct 2006.Being fortunate in having our own city already in the database we have exceeded our objectives in terms of traffic. Emails will be sent out to the businesses with usernames, and passwords for each of their employees.
We have generated over 21000 hits and climbing & our ad campaign has just begun. This is about to explode as members currently without a web site log on to use our wizard interface to create one. (no technical expertise required) & it can be done in 30 minutes. By the Downtown connection hosting a portion of all these sites (1900 web sites) within our own traffic & hits will explode.
Particapants are involved based on geography and all downtown business are part of the database and can be searched for. Participation is done at various levels. Options to increase visibility are available and for downtown members a full suite of options is as close to free as you can get it. These costs are subsidized by outside sponsors etc. See Member costs here.
No problem, our intention is to have 100% participation and have many options to help you integrate into our system. We would accept promotional items or sponsorships to assist in the yearly costs, or bill you at a later date.
Increase awareness of your products and services to the 25,000+ employees of the downtown core.
Having your own web site & traffic to go with it.
This is a “member driven” community effort to provide discounts, promotions and conduct more business through awareness of the products and services offered within the downtown community.
Compete against the competition in other areas such as Bayer’s Lake, Dartmouth Crossing, etc…that promote themselves as the place to shop. This will allow you to step up and promote your business as the employees of the downtown core are already here.
Current & forthcoming Benefits are provided to all participating members, and their employees only. These benefits if used will provide full Return on your investment.
Well its great value and it really doesn’t cost you anything. You have everything to gain. It is the first real major campaign focused on Halifax and it’s a team effort from both corporate & retail sectors. The cost is reflected as a membership & provides the web presence & exposure we can all use to market services back and forth to each other.
Good question. We are starting out with all downtown already in our database .It varies but the approximate count for downtown businesses is 1900 with a head count for employees at around 25,000. There is no checkered board effect in term of trying to find something it’s all there.
